It's still kind of hard to believe that bassist Michael Formanek has formed a trio with alto saxophonist Tim Berne and guitarist Mary Halvorson:  three of the most interesting musicians in New York, together!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  It was scary when Victoria Blamey, the chef behind the surprisingly good food at Chumley's 2.0, left earlier in the year.  But they got an able replacement -- WHEW!!!! -- in Heather Pelletier, and the rejiggered menu is just as enticing as before.
