I know, I know:  what could be stupider than a concert of orchestral arrangements of the songs on a rock album?  But David Bowie's Blackstarisn't just any rock album.  And the performers here, the cream of NYC's New Music/"indie classical" scene -- also featuring two stellar former Bang on a Can All-Stars -- aren't just any orchestra.  The Donny McCaslin Group, the questing jazz combo that backed Bowie on that final masterpiece, will also perform.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Daniel Boulud's Bar Pleiades has excellent cocktails and rather good bar food.
