Brackish -- Music & Art is a performance series curated by the avant-jazz (she'd say she's also pop) saxophonist Angela Morris -- and features exactly the the type of musicians, poets, dancers, and visual artists you'd expect to be programmed by someone who can be described like that.  Which is not to say it's predictable.  I don't know anything about any of the people on this bill.  But on a nice summer night, why not go down by the water (even if it's that water) and take a flier on something new?

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Over the canal and around the corner to Freek's Mill, with its sparkling farm-to-tableish food and an absolutely delightful all-Beaujolais-and-Loire-Chenin-Blanc-and-Georgian-qvevri wine list.
