You don't get to hear so much of the Italian maverick 20th Century avant-gardeist Salvatore Sciarrino that can afford lightly to miss a chance. Especially when ENSEMBLE/PARALLAX's program includes two works harkening back to the 16th Century: Infinito Nero, giving an eerie silence-based setting to eerie and melancholic 16th Century Catholic mystic utterances; and Le Voci Sottvetro, resetting madrigals by Italian maverick 16th Century avant-gardeist Carlo Gesualdo. Also, a nice chance to hear one of Patricia Alessandri's electo-acoustic . . . well, you can't them "soundscapes" because they're too purposeful. Sealing the deal, all the music will be accompanied by purpose-made video art.
