Coming off of two excellent and highly acclaimed operas (and a Requiem that ought to get raved about all the time as well), Gregory Spears presents a new song cycle based on Thoreau. Also on the program is the Virginia Woolf song cycle by the recently deceased Dominick Argento, who showed that you can be fresh even when writing in a conservative idiom -- and who, mark my words, we're going to come to appreciate more and more now that he's gone.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Nice and homey Korean food at the universally beloved Her Name Is Han.
