Carl Hancock Rux wasn't really part of the Neo-Soul movement; although his music had/has strong elements of that, his avant-garde leanings kept him to the side.  This show -- celebrating the 20th anniversary of Rux's serving as the first artist ever to play Joe's Pub -- gives both elements of Rux's style full play, with a bunch of electronics and a guest appearance by a shining light of current progressive R&B.  And guest drumming by Will Calhoun, who's a member of a pretty good rock band.
