Jeremy Gill is one of those composers who use traditional classical materials in fresh ways, coming up with music that's legible to conservative listeners without sounding even a tiny bit retrograde, clearly the product of an individual voice saying things the way it wants to.  And, as you'll hear if you attend this program of pieces for various ensembles, he's really good at it.  (I'm listening as I write this to the album of Gill's work the Boston Modern Orchestra Project put out a couple of years ago -- and it is SO fine!)
