A two-night bash closing out Roulette's 40th season. Saturday's bill is a little more appealing, consisting of a duo of Downtown harp goddess Zeena Parkins and experimental guitarist/sometime rock star Nels Cline; a duo of Downtown electronic noise goddess Ikue Mori and jazz piano genius Craig Taborn; improvising pianist Sylvie Courvoisier's great working trio; and the thought-provoking avant-gutbucket saxophonist Matana Roberts. But Sunday's show is worth considering, with the organ trio Simulacrum playingJohn Zorn; Simulacrum organist John Medeski doing a solo set; the duo of Haitian-Brooklyn electronic musician Val Jeanty and legendary vocal improviser Fay Victor; and noise madman J.G. Thirlwell.
