Tonight he capos program themselves. Jessica Pavone composes and plays (on her viola) music that manages to be both microtonal and melodic (sort of an alt-classical Jesus and Mary Chain). Tonight, she's accompanied by her string ensemble: one of the better ways to encounter her gifts. Guitarist Ava Mendoza is that rare thing: a shredder with a brain (and a coherent musical imagination).
