A world premiere of a concert overture by Philip Glass fashioned from his incidental music to the recent Glenda Jackson Lear production. Luminous Broadway-crossover star Kelli O'Hara singing Barber's atmospheric Knoxville: Summer of 1915, one of the most beautiful and evocative things in all American music. And an extended suite from Prokofiev's tangy ballet Romeo and Juliet. The Phil is good for something.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Pan-Mediterranean at Boulud Sud.
