Spectrum's new Steinway D gets a rest. Composer/soprano Héloïse Wernerperforms a set of pieces for unaccompanied solo voice by herself and others — including Cathy Berberian's classic comic strip onomatopoeia tributeStripsody. The Spark Duo performs pieces for trumpet and clarinet. Not a piano in sight.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Before the show, go to Russ & Daughters Navy Yard, for the best appetizing in the entire world — now in Brooklyn! After the show, walk over to uber-cozy Vinegar Hill House for my constant Sunday dinner recommendation in this area. It doesn't open till 5:30; so you might have to stop at the Kings County Distillery Gatehouse on the way for a local whiskey cocktail (or neat, for that matter).
