Detroit has a long and proud jazz tradition — the three Jones brothers, Paul Chambers and Ron Carter (and let's not forget that James Jamerson started out in that scene), Betty Carter, Geri Allen (and that's just a very few) — and the late trumpeter Marcus Belgrave was for a long time its bellweather. This tribute, mixing stars and up-and-comers, should be endlessly rewarding.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: You probably can't get into Nikkei sensation Llama San. But you can try.
