The previous episodes of this year's stretched-out remote Bang on a Can Marathon have been such fabulous fun that I've now learned it's idle to single out particular performers:   it's the gestalt.  So tempting as it is to tell you that Deerhoof's Greg Saunier has a new solo percussion piece, performed by David Cossin, called John Paul George and Ring Pry Open the Gates of Hell; or that there's a world premiere by Annie Gosfield; or a solo performance by Dirty Projector David Longstreth; or new Gemma Peacocke performed by Nathalie Joachin no less; or a solo performance by Tyshawn Sorey; or a 91st-birthday tribute to George Crumb . . . tempting as it is to point those out, I'm not gonna.  Just watch.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  The thing to drink over this long show is lots of beer.  I'm going to go for Other Half Small Riwaka Everything India Pale Ale (a recommendation of subscriber AS).
