Jen Shyu and Sara Serpa — certainly among the most commanding and provocative musicians drawing on quasi-vernacular forms these days — mastermind a program in which woman-identifying musicians mentor each other and team across genre and age lines to make new work. Among the artists involved in tonight's pieces are current List obsession Anjna Swaminathan, Leslie Mok with Tomeka Reid, and Serpa herself. Sounds pretty sure-fire.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Hanky Panky. Right? Pour 1-1/2 oz. each of Gin and sweet Vermouth, and 1/2 teaspoon of Fernet, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.
