Randy Woolf was way ahead of the curve in integrating pop usages (in his case, rock music) into classical in an organic, from-the-inside, non-exploitive way. If that now makes him an elder statesman, well, he's a very youthful one. A new song cylce from him, performed by the voice-and-guitar Bowers-Feder Duo, is exciting by definition.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Let's go back to the Autumn Leaves, both because Autumn is about to be over and I can't believe this cocktail works (who THOUGHT of this?): pour 1 oz. each of Pisco and Drambuie, and 1/4 oz. each of Campari and lime juice, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with an orange wedge and a lime twist.
