A few of the staggeringly accomplished musicians in the International Contemporary Ensemble showcase works written for them by such great composers as Vijay Iyer and Phyllis Chen.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: A French twist on the Hanky Panky cocktail that we've been talking about a lot here lately: Suzy's Hanky. Pour 1-1/2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. sweet Vermouth, and 1/2 oz. each of Grand Marnier and Suze into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with an orange twist and (go on: go crazy!) a thyme sprig.
