Marni Kotak famously held a durational performance several years ago that culminated in the live birth of her son in the Microscope Gallery.  So don't expect small things from this.  (A reader has pointed out that babies are small things — but birth, birth is as big as things get.)  This one started on Monday, but continues at 7:30 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Just in case you have a bunch of different obscure bitter apéritifs laying around, here's a way to make good use of them:  Le Bateleur.  Pour 2 oz. Gin, 3/4 oz. Punt e Mes, 1/2 oz. Strega, and 1/4 oz. Cynar, with a dash of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker, stir, and strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with an orange twist.
