Readers have complained that there is no statement of the aesthetic presuppositions underlying the idiosyncratic-seeming recommendations on this List.  To that end, I direct your attention to thingNY, which could be the poster child for what this List is about:  all the interest in formal and technical exploration of a New Music ensemble, with all the commitment to fun and immediacy of a pop band.  They had been looking forward to 10th anniversary performances of their 2010 opera ADDDDDDDDD this month.  Those obviously got scuttled, so they came up with this new piece they call SUBTRACTTTTTTTTT, which will toy with the vagaries of bandwidth broadcast with which we've all become too familiar over the last month.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  What cocktail already Listed this week does the Glandula del Mono riff on?  Pour 2 oz. blanco Tequila, 1/2 oz. each of lemon juice, orange juice, and Grenadine, and 2 dashes of Absinthe into an ice-filled cocktail shaker, shake, and strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.  This show deserves a few of these.
