Another Jazz Gallery initiative, this one featuring musical segments recorded by the participating artists during the week preceding the stream, and then live chat with the artists afterward.  Tonight attention must be paid to guitarist Bill Frisell, one of the best musicians on the planet.  Jen Shyu, who combines a mastery of East Asian string instruments and Western classical and jazz piano with a unique theatrical conception.  Kasa Overall, a drummer with interesting ideas and backpack rap roots.  And Hannah Marks, a bassist I've never heard of.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Now that it's (notionally) Summer, we can have a South Side:  muddle 5 mint leaves in a cocktail shaker.  Pour in 2 oz. Gin, 3/4 oz. lime juice, and 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup.  Add ice, and stir.  Strain into chilled Martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with another mint leaf.
