Dan Tepfer is a jazz pianist, except he's a classical pianist.  Whatever:  he's a good pianist.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  As Robert Simonson has said, if the Obituary is your deathbed drink, you haven't done too badly:  pour 2 oz. Gin and 1-1/2 teaspoons each of dry Vermouth and Absinthe into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Stir.  Strain into a Martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with a lemon twist.
