Avant-madman Sxip Shirey is always surprising, unpredictable, playful, entertaining:  since he hasn't asked me to stop yet, I'll keep calling him the American Tom Zé.  And he's married to Coco Karol, a dancer/choreographer just as surprising and playful as he is!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  A surprising, enjoyable cocktail, a Chartreuse Smash:  muddle 10 mint leaves with 1 oz. lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a cocktail shaker.  Add 2 oz. green Chartreuse.  Fill with ice.  Shake.  Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice (shaved if possible).  Garnish with a mint sprig.
