Will Arbery's thought-provoking account of earnest young "Crunchy Conservatives" dealing with the exigencies of the Trump Era gets a reading by the cast that embodied it live last Fall (seems like another era).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Old Fashioned:  put a slice of orange peel at the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass with 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup (you can instead use a sugar cube if you want) and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters (you can instead use orange bitters — and it'll be better).  Muddle.  Pour in 2 oz. Rye (you can instead use Bourbon — and it'll be worse).  Stir.  Add ice.  Stir again.
