Multi-disciplinary artist Matt Mottel is the son of a noted photographer, who focused on documenting social issues and the Downtown theatrical avant-garde. Here, Mottel fils provides a musical and visual setting for photos by his father. "The live performance of the musical composition and visual presentation of the archive act as equal elements in the final outcome," says Roulette's promotional materials. Let's hope Roulette deviates from prior practice and gives a worthy remote presentation of the visual elements.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Why not a Manhattan? Pour 2 oz. Rye (you can use Bourbon if you want — but it won't be as good) and 1 oz. sweet Vermouth, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
