You'd think that now that we've communally resolved to stop ignoring women playwrights, the works of Fanny Burney — one of the wittiest and most perceptive people ever to put pen to paper in English — would be all over the place. But no. Expect gobs of 18th Century proto-feminist drollery. That it's directed by the invaluable — and hilarious — Everett Quinton is icing on the scone.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Belmont: pour 2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. cream, and 1/2 oz. Grenadine into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake (hard). Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
