I used to complain about the ghettoisation of New Music on programs that mainstream audiences could ignore. But I'm so sick of programs where some new piece is thoughtessly shoved onto a run of standard repertoire that it does not relate to that I'm no longer complaining. In any event, if the Chamber Music Society wants to play the likes of George Lewis and Marcos Balter, I can only say, "hell yeah!"

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Lincoln Ristorante is back with a severely paired-down (Italian) menu and no indication of who the chef is. Proceed with extreme caution.
