A festival of Middle Eastern music; great stuff. Go Thursday for the Berber gnawa: hypnotic but danceworthy.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Wandering around the East Village after a Joe's Pub show recently, the only thing I could find open and accessible — posted closing hours notwithstanding — was Veselka. All I can tell you is that it's no worse than it ever was.
