Questing experimental improvising violinist Joanna Mattrey plays compositions by herself and other notable improvisers. Wait, isn't that a contradiction? The contributing improvisors-cum-composers are all List regulars: Nick Dunston, Weasel Walter, Lucie Vítková, and Leila Bordreuil.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, classic Red Sauce (which is almost never as good as you hope it will be) at Frost. At home, time for a Paper Plane: pour 3/4 oz. each of Bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonio, and lemon juice into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
