Master pianist Conrad Tao mixes (great) old stuff — Beethoven's penultimate piano sonata, Schumann's wonderful Kinderszenen, Bach's mighty Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, that John Adams oldie China Gates — with new stuff, composed and improvised, including a brand new piece by himself.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, been a while since we've been to neighborhood Italian fave Sfoglia. Streaming at home, have a Red Hook: pour 32 oz. Rye and 1/2 oz. each of Punt e Mes and Maraschino Liqueur into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
