The incisive pianist/composer Kris Davis, certainly one of the leading lights of contemporary jazz, performs six pieces responding to films by Julian Charrière — with an intriguing new ensemble.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, comforting bistro at Bacchus. Streaming at home, have a Fumata Bianca: pour 1/2 oz. Mezcal and 1 oz. each of Vermouth Blanc (actually, by preference, Carpano Bianco) and Suze into a Collins glass. Add ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
