Superflautist Claire Chase continues her project of expanding the repertoire for solo (or barely accompanied) flute by commissioning a spate of works leading up to the 100th anniversary of Varèse's epochal flute piece Density 21.5 in 2036. This installment presents new works by, among others, Liza Lim, Matana Roberts, and Ann Cleare — and ends, as always, with a performance of Density 21.5 itself.
