This is a little Mainstream for this List, but what the hell. Ronald K. Brown's African-inflected modern dance is consistently excellent: vital and rigorous. And Brown's dancers are consistently beyond excellent. This program reprises notable solos and duets from Brown's repertoire.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Dawa: put 1 quartered skin-on lime at the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Crush them a little. Add ice and pour in 2 oz. Vodka. Muddle the lime with a honey stick coated with honey. Really go at it.
