Drummer/composer Walter Hooker has been a mainstay of the NYC avant-jazz scene for decades. So a new extended piece by him for percussion, electronics, dance, and film is pretty fucking exciting.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Swine & Roses: rinse a rocks glass with Absinthe. Pour 1-1/4 oz. each of Gold Rum and Cognac and 1/2 oz. Falernum, with 2 dashes each of Angostura and Peychaud's bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into the rinsed glass. Garnish with a lime twist.
