Wow, two favorites combine. Berlin-based sound artist crys cole — her fascinating soundscapes are utterly devoid of sentiment — interprets a graphic score by Beth Anderson. Anderson is a composer who ought to be a lot better known: creating stuff that sounds like folk music from the astral plane, she anticipated Alt Classical by decades. Her Namely was one of the treats of last Summer (a Summer that needed some treats). And if you want to have a good time, listen to her "Ocean Motion Mildew Mind" from 1980!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: White Manhattan: pour 1-1/2 oz. White Whiskey and 1/2 oz. each Vermouth Blanc and Bénédictine, with 3 dashes of orange bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
