Choreographer/dancer Mariana Valencia kicks off what might as well be Mariana Valencia Week here in Virtual New York with a visual essay that promises to be both narrative and abstract.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In honor of the Chicago-raised New York-resident Valencia, a drink that was probably invented in New York but that honors Chicago. Chicago Fizz: pour 1 oz. each of Rum and Ruby Port, 1/2 oz. lemon juice, and 1 egg white, with 1/2 teaspoon of superfine sugar, into a cocktail shaker WITHOUT ICE. Dry shake. Add ice. Shake some more. Strain into a chilled Collins glass. Top with club soda.
