Can you make theater in a closet in the East Village? Actually, yes.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Herald Punch: pour 1-1/2 oz. Rye, 1-3/4 oz. orange juice, and 1/4 oz. Demerara Syrup, with 2 dashes of orange bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice. Top with a float dark Rum. Garnish with seasonal fruit (if there is any).
