Immanuel Wilkins is about as big a deal as there is in Mainstream Jazz right now: the real thing, as both a sax player and a composer. As you'll see in tonight's new extended vocal-instrumental piece (the credits also list someone as "cooking" — we'll see how THAT comes across on a stream!). The piece deals with the Harlem Six, a group of boys accused and, you won't be surprised to learn, convicted of murder in the mid-'60s through forced confessions, later overturned.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Left Hand: pour 1-1/2 oz. Bourbon and 3/4 oz. each of sweet Vermouth and Campari, with 2 dashes of chocolate bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
