Molly Joyce — a composer of mellifluous but powerful music — and colleagues explore the left and right sides of the human body (the sinister left side being denigrated in cultures around the world: because right-handedness predominates? but how much of that is forced for cultural reasons?). It bears mentioning that both Joyce and dancer Jerron Herman are disabled.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Left Hand: pour 1-1/2 oz. Bourbon and 3/4 oz. each of sweet Vermouth and Campari, with 2 dashes of chocolate bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
