Avant-jazzers Steve Swell (on trombone) and Tom Rainey (on drums) have played together before — but, at least in public, never as a duo. That will be corrected tonight.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: If you go to the venue, it'll be nice to walk around the corner to the welcoming and delicious Kind of Soul. At home, have a Rye Shake: pour 2 oz. Rye, 1 oz. lime juice, and 3/4 oz. Simple Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
