Amirtha Kidambi is someone whose music I listened to A LOT during Quarantine. Modern Indian fusion, I guess you'd call it. It takes you out of yourself — and you get the feeling it's taking Kidambi out of herself, too. This is her jazz fusion band (of a sort) — and they're just great.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: If you go to the venue, it'll be nice to walk around the corner to the welcoming and delicious Kind of Soul. At home, have a Tamarind Margarita: rim a double rocks glass with salt. Pour 1-1/2 oz. Blanco Tequila and 1 oz. Cointreau or other Triple Sec, with 1/4 oz. Tamarind Paste (get it at Kalustyan's and then use it on pork ribs all summer), into a cocktail shaker WITHOUT ice. Dry shake for a rather long time, until the paste is dissolved. Now pour in 2 oz. lime juice, and 1/2 oz. each of orange juice and Simple Syrup. Shake some more. Strain into the rimmed glass over ice.
