Pianist Leo Genovese is the kind of mainstreamy neo-Jarrett jazz player who doesn't get Listed here. But here he imposes a theoretical superstructure on his approach — except that his written description of it sounds a lot like . . . um, jazz, you know? Nevertheless, Your Compiler is a sucker for theoretical superstructures.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Rising Sun: pour 1-1/2 oz. Mezcal, 3/4 oz. grapefruit juice, and 1/2 oz. each of lime juice and Maraschino liqueur into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Put in a pinch of salt. Garnish with a lime wheel.
