Che Chen, master of weird invented electric string instruments, is half of the psych/drone/world/minimalist band 75 Dollar Bill, of which Your Compiler is an insane fan. He (Che Chen, not Your Compiler) has been holed up over the Quarantine with violinist/vocal-sound-maker/electronicist/fabric artisan Talice Lee, making for a closer (or at least more constant) collaboration than either of them probably ever expected. Here are the fruits.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: If you go to the venue, it'll be nice to walk around the corner to the welcoming and delicious Kind of Soul. (Last time I was at Roulette, the entire cast of the performance ended up joining me and the others in KOS's delightful backyard.) At home, try a Million Dollar Cocktail: pour 2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. sweet Vermouth, 1/2 oz. pineapple juice, and 1 teaspoon Grenadine, with an egg white. into a cocktail shaker with NO ice. Dry shake. Add ice. Shake some more. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
