Guitarist/noisemaker/ritualist Yonatan Gat — who left his native Israel after he was banned from virtually every venue in the country — convenes one of his usual eye-poppingly eclectic groups of musicians. Opening is master percussionist Susie Ibarra, if anything an even more fascinating musician than Gat.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: The Sultan Room is located in The Turk's Inn, a reconstruction in Bushwick of a bizarre but hugely popular Midwestern supper club that featured Middle Eastern cuisine. The food isn't good, exactly (and they're now serving a wildly pared-down menu) — but you don't see decor like that every day (or ever).
