Superguitarist Gary Lucas celebrates 40 years of professional activity, from Captain Beefheart through his own undefinable Gods & Monsters band and lots of other stuff (I'm partial to his 1930s Shanghainese cabaret music project myself), all unexpected, (almost) all interesting, all amazingly well played. Gods & Monsters will be in the house, as well as the eternally Youthful Thurston Moore and others.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Slightly hit-and-miss Italian (at its best it's just great) from a terrific chef at da Toscano.
