The Object Collection company, which has never met a text it couldn’t unpack into something truly bizarre (but always telling), takes one of Robert Ashley’s unstaged works and stages it. Automatic Writing — a great great piece — made music, and indeed derived characters, from a tape of the composer free-associating. The stage options are obvious — but you can be sure those aren’t the ones Object Collection will employ. The List Event of the week? The month? The season?

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Can you get into Neo-Cantonese-American sensation Bonnie’s yet? Nah. But at least they’re very very nice when they turn you away.
