There are several gorgeous song cycles setting Lorca — and Ashkan Behzadi’s Love, Crystal and Stone is another one, a work of great if illusive beauty: you hear, and you like it, but you can’t hold onto it; it’s always slipping away. Its great proponents the TAK Ensemble celebrate the release of their recording of it (along with an illustrated book that looks like it’s just gorgeous itself).
