If you want to read something absolutely great, grab Zsófia Bán’s story-collection-in-the-form-of-a-textbook Night School. And now Jeremy Gill, a composer of consistently attractive music, has written a string quart concerto based on it. Rounding out the program are some of the most bearable Tchaikovsky there is.
