Lettrist icon Maurice Lemaître was one of the progenitors of performative cinema. This program brings his work to us. Attempting to recreate Lemaître’s pieces by following his instructions for performance as closely as possible, the gallery will present works requiring the intervention/participation of the viewers in the abstracted films being show — including in associated performance pieces. You’ve got to see it to know what it’s like.
