Just like it says in the Vanguard’s promotional materials, Aaron Parks is a forward-looking jazz pianist/composer who isn’t afraid of songform. He also isn’t afraid of the grunge style that his native Seattle contributed to rock music — although that now seems a lot less forward-looking than when Parks was starting out.
