One of those concept-concert extravaganzas that Yankee Diva Joyce DiDonato likes to put together, this time with staging and an actor and all. The program is supposed to celebrate nature, with music from the Baroque till now played by the Baroque Il Pomo d’Oro ensemble. But the main question this raises for me is, which will sound more bizarre played on Baroque period instruments: Ives or Mahler?
