This show examines the life and works of the great English Madrigalist (even though he was actually Welsh) and composer of church and keyboard music Thomas Tomkins (who you might say insisted on remaining Tudor, musically speaking, even though he lived into the Stuart period). What with his living through the English Civil War, the Plague, and whatnot, the life was almost as exciting as the music.
